A short guide about River / Canal Cruising
River cruising is one of the fastest growing holiday categories and for good reason. Being a different option to traditional road travelling - river cruises let you unpack once and relax as the scenery flows by, whilst stopping at the best places to sightsee by road or on foot. Some packages will offer the Cruise Only option while others will combine pre and post touring options to ensure you see the most well know cities and destinations.
River cruises quickly cover more distance while offering a relaxed atmosphere on-board, but provide a more comprehensive itinerary in town and country, with more organized sightseeing tours away from the vessel. Barge cruising is also a unique and a self-contained way to explore Europe. You don't travel: your barge does, carrying an excellent restaurant and a comfortable "country house hotel" along for the ride. For the most part River and Canal Cruises emphasize relaxed, leisurely travel in country regions filled with often-overlooked sightseeing treasures. The actual miles covered on a canal trip are relatively few, with frequent opportunities for waterside activities such as towpath walking or cycling and village rambles.
Popular destinations right now are the European rivers of the Rhine, Mosel and Danube, but the eastern European and Russian rivers such as the Volga are becoming more popular to. If Asia is your chosen region then try the Yangtze River of China or the Mekong in Vietnam. A Nile river cruise is another option for those looking to see Egypt in comfort. And if meeting new people and enjoying the camaraderie of travel is part of the fun for you, this may be your most attractive option. Most of these tours have guides chosen for their expert knowledge and passion, so create a shortlist of your holiday style, and click on the supplier of your choice for more detail.

Bunnik is actually a Dutch name. There is a small town just outside of the city of Utrecht in The Netherlands called Bunnik. Bunnik Tours is a fully owned subsidiary of Bunnik Travel. Bunnik Travel was established by Marion Bunnik and her two sons, Dennis & Sacha, in 1994. The agency quickly developed a reputation for innovation and personal service.

Intrepid was started in 1989 with a passion to get travellers off the beaten track in Asia, to share some of the special places we knew and introduce different cultures and ways of life.
We wanted to develop a style of travel that was all together different, where as travellers we became a part of country - and not just tourists looking in. We wanted to have fun, meet people, learn things, explore, and do stuff we could never do at home. We wanted to travel by anything and everything, and stay anywhere and everywhere! We wanted to be intrepid!
Today Intrepid has over 600 staff, over 400 different trips, over 90 different destinations and many different styles of travel.
