A short guide about Active travel to France
France is one of the world’s top five tourist destinations, providing everything you would want to see on your holiday. Travel to the capital - Paris ‘the city of light’, tour France’s beaches, lovely nature with incredible mountain scenery and discover that the country contains more monuments than any other. The Alps are great for skiing in winter and hiking in summer, Albertville, Grenoble and Chamonix have all hosted the Olympic Games.
The North of France will remind visitors of Belgium and the Netherlands, with the Grand' Place in Lille feeling a lot like Brussels.
West of France faces the Atlantic Coast with its rolling hills, sandy beaches and quiet little harbour towns. Normandy Brittany has a more rugged coast and many Neolithic sites. Bordeaux is a stylish capital of the South West being famous for its wines and 18th century architecture.
The Eastern part of France consists of the Alsace, Lorraine, Franche, Comta and Burgundy regions. It’s worth touring the rolling hills and beautiful cities such as Metz, Strasbourg, Nancy and Dijon. Loire valley is in the Centre of France, this region is a tourist treasure of great castles and beautiful towns.
The Auvergne is on the Massif Central Mountains, traversed by wild river valleys and an unspoilt environment. Tour Le Puy en Velay a city with historic churches perched on volcanic pinnacles.
The South of France is a top destination for its Roman ruins and the Riviera. The Provence is dotted with pleasant villages, towns like Orange and Arles, and its cities Marseille and Toulon are a must see. The Languedoc region has its own language and culture and here you find the Pyrenees, a great mountain range separating France from Spain.
Lastly, the island of Corsica has a very special atmosphere; the Corsicans speak their own language and have a great sense of freedom.

APT has a great mix of cultural touring experiences to discover first-hand the local culture.

Intrepid was started in 1989 with a passion to get travellers off the beaten track in Asia, to share some of the special places we knew and introduce different cultures and ways of life.
We wanted to develop a style of travel that was all together different, where as travellers we became a part of country - and not just tourists looking in. We wanted to have fun, meet people, learn things, explore, and do stuff we could never do at home. We wanted to travel by anything and everything, and stay anywhere and everywhere! We wanted to be intrepid!
Today Intrepid has over 600 staff, over 400 different trips, over 90 different destinations and many different styles of travel.

Wendy Wu Tours specialises in the areas of China, Vietnam, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Laos, with extensive programs to each of these regions.
We have been in operation since July 1998 and since this time we have developed a wide range of product appealing to even the most varied of tastes.
With the continuous and effective formula of 'fully inclusive' tours each product has been carefully constructed to provide the client with the very best each country has to offer, as well as a diversity of regions and attractions.
