A short guide about Zimbabwe
Only 20 years ago Zimbabwe was the richest country in Africa, if not for the present economical and political situation it would be a fantastic place to visit for the tourist. While the eastern parts of the country are strife torn, the western part is somewhat safer for the traveller. The most visited place is the spectacular Victoria Falls which can be seen on a short trip from Botswana or South Africa.

The Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe is beautiful fishing country, with fine walking trails and at certain times of the year it can be so cool that the grass in the morning is trimmed with frost. In the west is another world, the jumble of granite rocks make up the Matopos National Park and situated on the western border with Botswana is Zimbabwe's largest wildlife sanctuary; The Hwange National Park.
Hwange is home to one of Africa's largest elephant populations and myriad other species, there is also excellent game viewing at Matusadona, the Mana Pools and Zambezi National Parks.
