A short guide about Camping travel to Zambia
Zambia is a landlocked country in southern Africa, with a tropical climate and consists mostly of high plateau, with some hills and mountains, dissected by river valleys. It is the 39th-largest country in the world (after Chile) and slightly larger than the US state of Texas. Zambia is drained by two major river basins: the Zambezi basin in the south covering about three-quarters of the country; and the Congo basin in the north covering about one-quarter of the country. A very small area in the north-west forms part of the internal drainage basin of Lake Rukwa in Tanzania.
Zambia stretches from the southern shore of Lake Tanganika to the shores of Lake Kariba. It is bordered by Malawi and Mozambique on the east, Zimbabwe to the south, Namibia and Angola to the west and Congo and Tanzania to the north. A large portion of the country is given over to wildlife with 19 national parks and 31 game management areas. The prime wildlife areas are the Luangwa valley and the South Luangwa National Park, Kafue National Park and the Lower Zambezi National Park.
There are many safaris on offer at Tourabout; they range from setting up a basic camp to some of the most permanent Luxurious Camps. While some stay in Zambia itself, other safaris travel back to Zimbabwe or up the river into Botswana to see even more large game. For even more adventures don’t miss the opportunity to "raft the gorge" on the Zambezi below the falls or bungee jump from the bridge crossing between Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Intrepid was started in 1989 with a passion to get travellers off the beaten track in Asia, to share some of the special places we knew and introduce different cultures and ways of life.
We wanted to develop a style of travel that was all together different, where as travellers we became a part of country - and not just tourists looking in. We wanted to have fun, meet people, learn things, explore, and do stuff we could never do at home. We wanted to travel by anything and everything, and stay anywhere and everywhere! We wanted to be intrepid!
Today Intrepid has over 600 staff, over 400 different trips, over 90 different destinations and many different styles of travel.

Established since 1983, Kumuka, whose name originates from Africa, and translates in to ‘the start of a journey’, has taken travellers to many parts of the globe, offering an extraordinary range of trips.
Beginning with one expedition vehicle and a Trans Africa tour, we have steadily extended and broadened our operations, which now include tours to Africa, Asia, Antarctica, Latin America, North America, Europe and The Middle East.
As Kumuka has grown so do the expectations of it’s clients, and we continue to be true to our roots, catering for all manner of travellers united by a single desire: to experience their holiday to the maximum.

We are a Sydney based company incorporated in 1969 to design and market African Safari Holidays.
Over the 38 years we have been in business we have successfully operated a range of tours from South Africa Botswana Zambia and Zimbabwe and then Kenya Tanzania and Egypt. We have an endless array of options to fit into your time frame and your budget and particular interests. It is up to you!
Our Africa and Egypt brochures provide popular choices and our expert staff will be able to give you friendly tips -sourced from one who has “been there and done it”.
It is our first hand knowledge that makes us different from the rest and also our pride in knowing it all began with us.
