A short guide about Linyanti Bush Camp
Thinking of visiting the Linyanti Marsh Area to take a Safari holiday in the Chobe National Park of northwest Botswana? Well if you are – you’ll find that the park is divided up into 4 areas, each corresponding to one distinct ecosystem.
The Linyanti Marsh is located at the northwest corner of the park, to the north of Savuti. It is adjacent to the Cuando River (alternatively spelled Kwando); this is a river in south-central Africa, also called the Linyanti River and the Chobe River in its lower section, before it flows into the Zambezi River. The Selinda Reserve lies to west and on the northern bank of Kwando River is Namibia's Mamili National Park.
Take a safari tour into the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve on the southern banks of the Linyanti River. Here the marsh subsides into lagoons, providing steadily flowing rivers forests of jackal-berry and sausage trees leading to open grasslands and dry inland wooded areas.
The Linyanti has a number of private concessions where luxury camps has been built, as well as smaller camping grounds. The camping grounds overlook the Linyanti River so there are many chances of seeing and hearing hippos in the river. Being off the beaten track, the Linyanti camps are much quieter and provide an ablution block with toilets, showers and a boiler to heat water.
